Parent seeking violin teacher via Skype

Our teenage daughter started her violin lessons with a Suzuki teacher many years ago. We absolutely loved the experience, and my daughter has grown in her musical abilities. Since then we have moved to a remote corner of Northeastern California, and there are no Suzuki teachers anywhere within a 100 mile radius, according to the “Find a Suzuki Teacher” search results. My wife and I are interested in finding a Suzuki violin teacher for our 8-year-old son. We would be willing to travel occasionally, but we would prefer to have lessons delivered via Skype or other similar platform. Please let me know if this is a realistic option. I have read about Skype lessons, and it sounds promising to me.

Hello David. I’d be happy to talk with you personally about your interest in lessons by Skype for your son. I take it your daughter is not continuing with individual lessons at this time? There are of course some limitations in starting out without the physical presence of a teacher in the studio, in correct posture, left and right arm and hand set up, bow hold and movements, etc.

Please write back to me privately with your number and I’d be glad to contact you.

I offer distance lessons online via Skype or Facetime and video exchanges, under certain circumstances, and would be happy to discuss details with you if you haven’t already found a teacher.
