Just saw that David Nadien passed away. For those who don't know, Nadien made one of the versions of the recordings of the Suzuki Violin repertoire (before the revised edition came out).

David Nadien was legendary. Everybody in New York talked about his famous audition which gained him the position as concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic. The word on the street was that he was an extraordinary sight reader who blew everybody’s socks off when he auditioned.

He will be missed.
