This is not related to Suzuki directly, but the topic may be relevant for other teachers.

I’ve been working closely this fall with the string teacher at the local intermediate school—volunteering to come in and provide group instruction mainly, from time to time.

She asked me last week if I would be guest soloist at their spring string concert. Most of the children are first or second year students (violin, viola, cello) not taking privately.

Does anyone have any suggestions/know of a piece written for elementary strings that would be played with a soloist?

I have found one piece in some internet searching.

Thank you for any ideas on this!

Celtica by Brian Balmages is an excellent piece for this. It also comes with two possible solo parts.
