Hello! As many of you know, I published a book a year ago: “From Suzuki to Mozart: A History of the Pieces in Violin Books 1-10.” Currently I am working on a revised edition, for the most part because I realized that I spelled “Matsumoto” and “Petzold” incorrectly.

One of the things I would like to add is an entry on Perpetual Motion in Book 4. I was unable to find anything on Carl Bohm. Apparently he has not generated any articles in the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, nothing in music journals or any books. This cannot be true! Wikipedia has a small entry on him, but I don’t consider that to be a reliable source. There was a reference to the German National Library, but unfortunately I don’t have a way to get to Frankfurt in the next month to check it out… Does anyone have a reference source for me for Carl Bohm? I have a free book or two for anyone who can send me a source!

Thanks!!!!! Hadley

Could this be the same composer? See this link:
About the composer:
About the piece (see below):

This Third Suite by Carl Bohm consists of six short works for violin with piano accompaniment :
1.No. 1 : Praeludium
2.No. 2 : Largo ma non troppo
3.No. 3 : Intermezzo
4.No. 4 : Scherzoso
5.No. 5 : Sarabande
6.No. 6 : Moto Perpetuo in D Major
Each one of these six short works can be played entirely in the first position.

That looks great! I now have a reference source! Is your address the same as the one in the SAA journal? I’ll send you a copy of the book!
