Hi All—

I have been very blessed for the past several years to have been teaching a student with significant special needs. Teaching her has been a real challenge, but she is by far the most rewarding student of my career to date. Sadly, the family is moving to Vancouver, and mom and I are both hoping we might be able to find a violin teacher who has experience with special needs students. Please send me a PM if you would be interested to take my lovely student and amazing mom, or if you know of any Suzuki teacher in the area who has experience.
She is my most special student, and I am gutted to be losing her. I really hope I can find a fabulous and patient teacher who will love and nurture her too!!

Thank you so much!!

Hi MsJennifer,
I would suggest using the SAA find a teacher page teacher’s directory to find teachers in Vancouver in case they aren’t reading here.

Yes “Find a Teacher” is what I would recommend as well. And of course asking the teacher about his/her experience with special needs. Also, asking the new teacher if they might have a “trial” lesson to see if the personality is a good fit is always a good idea.
