Does anyone have a parents’ letter/bill that he/she can send me as a model of what I could use in my violin/classical guitar studio? The simple ‘handshake’ method is no longer working for me!

Thanks much

Hi Terricapps,

I’m sure you’ll get lots of replies and ideas.  Here’s what I do (attached).  It  is my information sheet AND contract form rolled into one, signed by the parent and they keep a copy.

Then I have excel spreadsheets for each student’s accounting record that I mail out monthl y.

The information could be altered to list an annual  or semester price or however you like to set up your studio and billing.

Hope this helps

I use Music Teacher’s Helper—an online subscription which can automatically generate and send professional invoices. It also includes an online calendar, income/expense records, etc. You can see what these look like if you follow the link in my signature and watch the demo—I’m so happy with their service that I became an affiliate! Initially I was only interested in the free website they offer, but after doing a trial for the paid subscription I was sold. So much easier than typing up individual invoices, etc., and very affordable for my small studio.

I also have a studio policy which is signed at the beginning of the year which talks about rates, cancellations, make ups, etc.

Lauren, that’s a nicely done contract!
