Can anyone recommend a violin repair shop in Colorado on the Western Slope? I’ve been living in the Roaring Fork Valley since October, and my bow is in desperate need of a rehair, but I want to avoid driving all the way to Denver if I can. Do you think it’s a bad idea to ship my bow? I’ve never been in this situation before, so not quite sure what to do.

Thanks for your help!

Don’t know if you’ve had any responses directly, and this looks like an old thread but I thought’d post for others looking for the same info.

If you can’t drive to a reputable shop, reputable shops are quite well versed at shipping instruments including bows. You can contact the shop directly to find out their preferred shipper and method of shipping. Of course, always insure the instrument.
