Well done videos!

Interestingly, I was doing some preview vibrato exercises with a student this week for cello, and one step I use is to pretend we are gently shaking something over the fingerboard. This student had a bit of difficulty with this and I realized the egg shaker sitting on the table next to me would probably help. Duh! I suggested to the parent that they might make one at home and she said they still had one from when this student’s older sister learned vibrato on violin!

Barb—thanks!

A student of mine came home from a Suzuki Institute with a box of half eaten tic tacs. The teacher gave them out to the students and told them after 100 shakes they could eat 1!

Unfortunately for me—I don’t like tic tacs. I’m a chocolate girl!

Smiles! Diane

Oh, but (sorry this has nothing whatsoever to do with vibrato) tic tac came out with this great musical ad a little while back… http://members.fortunecity.com/vammacrow/post21.JPG

I found a bunch of postcards with this ad on them and spent a whole group class teaching kids how to breathe together in order to play together (better)… then finished by handing out large wrapped orange tic tacs with the postcards to remind them of the lesson. The postcards were to go in their cases, so they would see them when they opened them up to practice…

Dianne—I love chocolate AND tic-tacs. So, why haven’t they come up with chocolate-mint tic-tacs? Maybe the 1.5 calorie thing….

RaineJen—that’s perfect!
