Please note that we’ve got a Skype icon for teachers who use Skype. Use of this technology opens up a whole new field for teachers, especially those of us who work with adult students, many of whom will not come to group lessons. It is also serves students who are in isolated communities or are home bound.

Thanks for bringing that to my attention; I added a more clear and prominent link to the page, to request joining. Be sure to add if you use Skype, as well. I haven’t started mine yet, but I have two friends who are using it with great success, finding students in Australia (for example). She recommended a hardware item, too, if you’d like to know about that. She uses:

Logitech HD Webcam C270

If anyone else has experience doing this, I’d love to hear about it.

Thanks, Jennifer; I think this notion of giving private lessons via Skype will become increasingly important. It goes with the notion of “cacooning,” which is encouraged by governments (less gas used, less traffic, etc.)
