Looking for more students? Now is the time to sign up for the online teacher location service.
Listing in the Find a Teacher search on the SAA website is not automatic. (There are lots of members who don’t want to be listed!) If you would like to be included, you need to sign up here.
You can now renew your SAA membership online, instantly, at any time it is convenient for you. 6 weeks before your membership expires you will receive an email reminder.
Since we launched online membership renewals on June 9th, there have been more than 130 online renewals, including one Lifetime membership!

The teacher training course registration process has been moved online for Institutes this summer, and, if all goes well, will be implemented for all teacher training venues: workshops, apprenticeships, etc.
Most of all: less paperwork to remember! Your training this summer will be registered with the SAA automatically by the Institutes—no need for you to mail forms or fees to the SAA. As soon as your training has been registered, usually a few weeks after your course, you will be notified by email. You can then go online and view/print an updated training transcript. By drastically reducing the amount of paper and postal mail, this new registration process is also environmentally friendly.
Are you receiving your monthly email newsletter? If not, please check you membership status and email address online. Set up a login, if you haven’t already done so. Check your records to see that all your membership and registration information is correct.
The Annual Meeting will be held at the SAA Office, 1900 Folsom, Boulder, CO, on Saturday, April 4, at 5:30 pm Central. It will be broadcast live on the SAA website with Board member presentations plus opportunities to email or call in questions for the Board. The live broadcast will be recorded and made available to watch later as well, in case you can’t be online at this time.
This year’s board ballot for election of new Board members is online and ready for voting by all current Active members whose email we have in our database. You will need to log in to your online account to access the ballot, so be sure you have set up an account as mentioned above. Paper ballots have been mailed to those few eligible members without email addresses. Ballot process will end on March 25, 2009.
Member access to the SAA website opens many new opportunities to SAA members. If you have not set up your account to access the “members-only” section of the website, please do so right away. You will need an account to access the ballot and the Virtual Leadership Retreat.
An Online, Interactive Potpourri of Ideas and Opportunities
The whole month of April, 2009
Conversations, postings, moderated chats, panel discussions, audio and video presentations, live web-based discussion, special challenges, and presentation by the SAA Board—all of these can be ours in April, 2009!
There is a leadership role for everyone in the Suzuki Community. Our challenge is to provide knowledge and skills to inspire and assist individuals in their local or regional roles, whether it be in official capacities as administrators or organizational board members or in the role of ambassador or spokespersons for Suzuki in their communities. The Virtual Leadership Retreat (VLR) will provide opportunities for new and experienced teacher alike to share, to be inspired, to learn and to grow.
The VLR may be your opportunity to give back to the SAA, your Suzuki organization, through sharing your leadership knowledge and skills with newer members and less experienced Suzuki teachers and families!

The complete American Suzuki Journal index, dating back to the first issue in 1973, is now available online. Can’t remember where you saw that great article on group lessons or practicing? You can search the index and find the issue and page where it appears. You can also browse the index by authors and topics. Note that this is just an index and the actual articles are not available on the website—that’s where your box of old issues comes in. (You…

While you’re there, don’t forget to explore the rest of the new media section, which includes pictures and more from many past events.
The Suzuki Association website now has a members-only section providing services for current SAA members. You can also view your membership records, including registered training and auditions. If you need to update your address or contact information (or your teacher location listing, if you’ve signed up for that service) you can do that online as well.
To gain access to the members-only section, you will need to create a website account. (There is…
