Now is a great time to start working on your Scholarship Application for next year. 2011 scholarships are for short-term, long-term, or apprenticeship teacher training between May 1, 2011 and May 31, 2012 and must be postmarked by February 5, 2011.

Scholarships for Latin Americans attending Festivals are also available prior to each Festival.

SAA received over 30 scholarship applications for the Peru Festival in January and 105 applications for the 2010 Summer Institute Scholarships.

Many thanks to the Scholarship Committee for their work. The results will be announced later this month.

Now is the perfect time to send in your video audition or scholarship application for teacher training this summer.

Teacher Scholarship Applications are due February 15. Fifty teacher scholarships were awarded in 2009.

Teacher Video Auditions are due at least 8 weeks prior to the start of your training course. Auditions results can take two months or more—get it in before March 31 for quicker results.

The 2007 teacher scholarship application is now available. SAA teacher members may apply for support to continue their unit training at institutes and workshops or through long-term training programs. Decisions are based upon the required portfolio materials submitted and the audition video (DVD). Postmark deadline for all materials is February 15, 2007.

SAA Teacher Development scholarships are awarded each spring through the SAA’s growing scholarship program. Scholarships provide tuition assistance for pedagogy study at approved Summer Institutes, workshops, or through other SAA-approved Teacher Development programs. Decisions are based primarily on merit, with consideration also given to expressed need. Awards are limited to the study of Suzuki book units and the SAA Practicum and paid directly to the Institute, university or sponsoring agency after SAA receives verification of the applicant’s acceptance into the course/program.
