16th Suzuki Method World Convention

The 16th Suzuki Method World Convention will take place March 27-31, 2013, in Matsumoto City, Nagano, Japan.

The event is sponsored by the Talent Education Research Institute (the Suzuki Method organization in Japan). The theme this year is “The World will be One, Joined Together by Children Making Music.”

The last Suzuki Method World Convention took place in Melbourne, Australia, in 2009. The last World Convention to be held in Japan was in 1998, the year of Dr. Suzuki’s death.

World Conventions feature events for teachers and students alike, with lectures, concerts, lessons, and master classes. The 2013 Convention hopes to bring together Suzuki students from throughout the world to play and study together.

The sun is shining brightly as I sit and write this column. It is a week before Thanksgiving and although this holiday will be long over by the time you are reading this, I hope you will join me in giving thanks for the very special lives we have all encountered due to our original mentor, Shinichi Suzuki.

15th World Suzuki Convention

The next international Suzuki convention will be held in Melbourne, Australia, April 14-19, 2009. Programs will be offered for teachers and students of Violin, Viola, Cello, Piano, Guitar, Flute, Voice, and Early Childhood. For more information, please see the 15th World Suzuki Convention website.

14 World Suzuki Convention

The 14th Suzuki Method World Convention in Turin, Italy, April 12-17, 2006 will be held eight years after the death of Maestro Shinichi Suzuki. The mission of the convention is to carry on Suzuki’s legacy and message, pursuing an objective dear to him, that all the children of the world, thanks to music, be happy and have a better life.
