The SAA depends on fund-raising efforts to achieve many of its goals, including the teacher scholarship program which aids teachers and teacher trainees in both North and South America. Won’t you join us in contributing to the Annual Fund of the SAA? Your gift assures that our Association can continue to be a working community meeting the needs of its members.

Dear Friends,

Some of the finest teaching in the Americas takes place in Suzuki schools and private studios, where the philosophy and methods of Dr. Suzuki are upheld. The Suzuki Association of the Americas was founded in 1972 to promote early music education through the Suzuki method of instruction and now has a growing membership representing over 15 countries.

Not only does the SAA promote music education for all children but it also educates its parent and teacher members.

What do Solomon, Daijah, and Ronda have in common? They were part of the Rainbow Suzuki Strings group from East Cleveland, OH, who were featured at our conference in 2006.

This past week, Solomon wrote that his trip had been important to him because he learned new things. Daijah said she felt more mature and experienced after the trip, and she will take these experiences with her throughout her life. Ronda said she now has more experience as a violinist from playing in front of our audience, and this experience calmed her nerves.

The Rainbow Strings as a whole wrote this when they heard that a Latin American Suzuki group would be coming to the 2008 conference:

The Board would like to thank those of you who have already remembered the SAA with a gift to our current campaign. We are also grateful to Gwendoline Thornblade for her support letter that formed the basis for this year’s appeal.

Annual Fund gifts are essential to maintaining and growing our Scholarship Program, sustaining and expanding our Teacher Development programs, parent education programs, website, Journal and other publications, and supporting the work of the International Suzuki Association.

You can now make a donation to the SAA online.

If you haven’t yet sent in your gift, please remember the SAA by year’s end!

Dear Friends and Supporters of the SAA,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, I would like to enlist your support for the SAA’s 2007 Annual Fund.

The Suzuki Association of the Americas is widely recognized for thirty-five years of excellence in musical education throughout the western hemisphere. Each aspect of the “Suzuki Triangle”—teachers, parents, and students—prospers from the SAA’s promotion of excellence in teacher training and teacher education, communication with parents, and genuine concern for developing each child’s appreciation of music. The SAA has produced impressive multi-dimensional results. They include, for example, the alumni who perform in our national symphony orchestras and those who work to develop new programs in Latin American towns and villages and rural and inner city programs throughout the Americas. Further, they provide scholarship programs for students and teachers and are dedicated to securing the heritage of Dr. Suzuki for future generations. Vehicles for communication include our SAA website and the Suzuki Journal of the Americas and allow relevant articles and new ideas to reach our membership.

Why is an Annual Fund so important for the Suzuki Association of the Americas? Many of us realize that the SAA could not exist if it weren’t for regular Annual Fund gifts from members. However, there are still questions each year about its importance. The question is frequently asked, “Where does the money go?” This is a question that deserves an answer and is answered each year in the Journal and Annual Report.

The SAA Board has committed itself to take the lead in fundraising, particularly through the Annual Fund Campaign. One of the Board’s goals is to expand the base…

As the Hurricane victims continue to recover from this devastation and have their basic needs met, the SAA will act as a clearinghouse to receive communication about specific needs and local fundraising efforts.
