Nightingale grew up in a perfect Suzuki environment with her mother teaching piano to help support her pastor father. She debuted her public singing at the age of 3; started piano lessons with her mother at 5 and began accompanying career in fourth grade and has stayed active since. She has worked (piano and voice) with many renown vocalists, instrumentalist and conductors, including Fernandi, Govoni and Ferroni from Italy and Jan and Beta Popper; was on staff as an accompanist and a soprano for Taipei Opera House; Voice Professors’ League; Music Teachers’ Chorus and many professional music organizations. She is a highly sought after collaborative pianist, an adjudicator and a clinician.
A faculty member of American College of Musicians; a judge for National Piano Guild Auditions. Certified and recipient of Hall Of Fame, Piano Guild, USA.
Winner of many piano and voice competitions. Has appeared on national TV and in many newspapers. Recipient of full scholarship and teaching assistantship throughout all musical degrees. Award Winner of National Dean’s List. Holds Master’s degrees in: Piano; Voice; Piano Accompanying and Chamber Music.
A “grandchild piano student” of Rosina Lhevinne and Dorothy Taubman.
Specialized in Taubman Technique.
Teaching experiences include: Eastern Michigan University; Flint Institute of Music (Director, Suzuki Program); The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (Director, Suzuki Program); Community School Suzuki Piano at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ (now Ryder University).

Serving as vice-president for Columbus Music Teachers Association.
Active as a choral conductor and a church musician.
Has been married to her husband Dr. John Chen, a dentist, since 1989.
Teaches her own children piano. Justina, 1991, a bio-chem major, plays piano & violin; Josephine, 1994, piano & viola; Josiah, 1999, piano & cello.
