Cherie Larson, a native Edmontonian, has been teaching with the Suzuki method over 30 years. She was fortunate enough to be with Dr. Suzuki and watch him work and teach in Japan, in Edmonton and in the States. Cherie began piano at age four and violin at age seven and in her teens, added both the viola and the organ. Currently, she is the Music Director of the Edmonton Society for Talent Education, teaches at the Suzuki Charter School, holds a music director and organist position at a church, accompanies recitals and concerts, is actively playing all four instruments and has a studio of 25+ students. (mostly viola with some violin). She has worked as a clinician in Brandon, Grande Prairie, Red Deer, New Denver, Camrose and Prince George and has written articles featured in the SAA Journal and in “Winning Ways”.
