At the 13th SAA Conference in May 2008, the Suzuki Association of the Americas will present its second project in a series of programs and events called the Suzuki Heritage Project. The purpose of each heritage project is to document information and events which will enable the SAA to preserve Dr. Suzuki’s legacy for future generations.

During the 2008 conference in Minneapolis the Suzuki Heritage Project would like to focus on the history of the Suzuki movement in the SAA’s region. The emphasis will be on teaching centers that were established prior to 1975. The Suzuki Heritage Committee is requesting that representatives from early programs select photos with captions, concert programs, or other items which could be displayed. An article describing the development of the teaching center, including dates and names of teachers involved, should accompany the items. Please notify Barbara Wampner at [javascript protected email address] by January 15, 2008, of your interest in being included in this display.

In order to arrange the format of the display (posters or powerpoint presentations), the SAA Office should receive all materials by February 15, 2008. We anticipate that these presentations would be a focal point for our Sunday Heritage events.

Your help in continuing to foster the understanding of our Suzuki history for the younger generations of teachers is greatly appreciated.
