Jentry Barrett has been playing the violin since the age of three. Graduating with a BM in Music Education from Utah State University in 2007, she has never stopped learning and honing her skills as a teacher and player. At Utah State University she studied with Russell Fallstad, the violist in the Fry Street Quartet. She studied chamber music with Anne Francis, Rebecca McFaul and Jessica Guideri. She was chosen to play for Lawrence Dutton of the Emerson String Quartet for a viola masterclass and her chamber group was chosen to participate in a masterclass given by Michael Carrera and Marjorie Bagley. Jentry was a faculty teacher in the Utah State University String Academy and has 24 years of experience in the Suzuki Approach. She has completed five levels of Suzuki Teacher training, a practicum experience with Christie Felsing and was selected to be in a mentorship program with renowned Suzuki Master Teacher Pat D’Ercole this fall. Jentry is also a certified Kindermusik Educator and is a trained Orff- Schulwerk instructor. Jentry also serves as an Osher Life Long Learning Instructor, teaching Suzuki group classes to seniors. She is a member of Lincoln Music Teachers Association, Nebraska Music Teachers Association and the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
