The 3rd Annual I AM Festival gives students the opportunity to learn, play and perform in a fun and unique summer camp setting. We invite you and your students to join us in Indy during the first week of August.
What happens during the week?
Every day, students attend lessons and classes. Morning classes (8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.) are devoted to core music classes – semi-private lessons, repertoire study, orchestra, music theory, band rehearsals, and sectionals. In the afternoon (1:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.), students have the opportunity to take electives—fiddling, jazz, gymnastics, handbells, martial arts, Orff ensemble and visual arts are all available!
During the week, well-prepared students have the opportunity to perform in our 4:00 p.m. recital series. We will also offer a field trip to a nearby park for a performance by local professional musicians.
On Thursday evening, students, faculty, and families participate in our Talent Show and Skit Night!
Friday, all of our ensembles (Orchestra, Band, Jazz, and Fiddling) perform in our final concert. The festival ends with a traditional Suzuki play-in featuring our string students.
