Temple Music Prep is the non-credit extension of Temple’s Boyer College of Music and Dance. As a division of the Boyer College, Music Prep is uniquely able to offer students direct access to both the expertise of Temple University and the leading teaching artists of Philadelphia’s outstanding performing organizations.

Housing & Meals
On-campus, air conditioned housing is available in University dormitories near Presser Hall. Rate is per person/night:
- Single or double $40 ( October, 2011, check for 2012)
Additional charge of $15 per week/person for linen packets: 2 twin size sheets, 1 pillow, 1 pillow case, 1 washcloth and 1 towel

Recreation
Temple University is less than 10 minutes by car, cab, or subway to all of Philadelphia’s major attractions including: Independence Hall, The Liberty Bell, The National Constitution Center, The Gallery Mall Downtown, The Pennsylvania Convention Center, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, Historic Eastern State Penitentiary and the Philadelphia Zoo. A subway stop is available 2 blocks from the dormitory and hotel.
Other Info
This was a new institute for 2010 and entering its third year. It is the first SAA approved Summer Institute in Philadelphia. Many more activity options are in development. We are excited that Temple University Music Preparatory Division is able to house this initiative at the Boyer College of Music and Dance on the Temple University Campus. Participants will have the opportunity to study and grow in newly renovated facilities of a leading university-based music college, central to a city known for its arts and culture.
