Every year during the month of June the sounds of hundreds of young string players fill the charming Victorian town of Ottawa, Kansas, located 45 minutes southwest of Kansas City on I-35. Players at all levels of abilities are welcomed into one or more of four programs on the lovely campus of Ottawa University.

Recreation
Supervised recreational activities are planned for children age 4 and up. Groups are assigned according to age. Each group will have the same recreation leader for the week. Activities will vary each day. Recreation is offered each day during parent lectures. SOUND ENCOUNTERS has special events and recreational activies built into the schedule.

Participants who fly should come into Kansas City International Airport. Graduation Program is available. CDs are due May 1. Solo recitals take place daily. Students audition in advance. CDs due May 1. Pre-Twinkle Program offered. Special Parent Seminar offered. SOUND ENCOUNTERS Master Classes available for Violin, Viola, and Cello. Audition CDs due April 1 or before.
