Housing & Meals

Housing in Las Vegas is varied. For families, non-gaming facilities such as Courtyard/Marriott, Hampton Inn Suites and La Quinta Inn (all in Summerlin) are within a 15 minute drive of our Institute. For those wishing for a more traditional resort experience, the Rio, The Palms and The Orleans are a short 9-minute drive from Clark HS. If you are looking for a budget plan, the Emerald Suites (across from The Orleans) is available in both 1 and 2 bedrooms (1 double bed in each). Limited homestays for teens and trainees are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Recreation

There are countless free entertainment offerings at most resort properties. Stay the weekend and enjoy an outdoor musical at Spring Mountain Ranch (marvel with the audience as you witness dozens of shooting stars), The Blue Man Group (Venetian), Donnie and Marie (Flamingo), Terry Fator (Mirage), ‘O’ (Bellagio) or travel up to Cedar City, UT for the Shakespeare Festival. A boat trip on Lake Mead or a trip to Hoover Dam are always a must. The Liberace Museum is a delightful experience for all piano students and The Springs Preserve is a beautiful place to learn about desert plants and animals.

Other Info

Students traveling by themselves will be met at the airport by one of our local parents/faculty. All hotels are serviced by shuttle service and/or cabs. Car pooling will be utilized for the majority of events and hotel-to-institute travel. For those wishing to rent a car, discounts will be available through Budget Car Rentals.

Kelly Barsel Photography will be on site the entire week. A photo board featuring candid, group and class photos will be on display and orders for photos may be placed during the institute.

Lunches will be available. Details regarding menu and prices may be found on our website and brochure.

The DSI Store, in partnership with Music & Arts, will be open each day of the Institute. Suzuki materials, stationery items, snacks, Music Mind Games materials, gifts and more will be available for sale.
